The BIG Blues Revue
With four years under their belt as the BBR and professional relationships in the band spanning over three decades, this seven piece ensemble always delivers what a real blues fan is looking for. Certainly a fitting tribute to the Blues Masters, all delivered with a refreshing air of their own personality and a growing list of powerful original material. Drawing on influence from the early Motown era and 70s soul as well as traditional blues, coupled with the natural chemistry, it all cooks into a HUGE sound and style all their own.
The BIG Blues Revue was formed in early 2009 by Detroit born guitarist, singer, songwriter; Michael Gee (AKA Gee Daddy). After enlisting extremely talented Sax and synthophone player, Bob Hunt, the next phone call was long time friend and former associate (on several occasions), guitarist and slide master, Jerry Lew Patterson. Drummer, Vocalist; Jimi Tulk and Bassist; Terry (Hoot) Gibson were the next to sign on.
After arranging a few songs for the band's 2010 CD release, Fame and Misfortune, the band visited a blues open mic night following a rehearsal to break in the music in front of an audience. This evening turned out to be the spark that would change the face of the band forever... Enter Martila Sanders. Master Percussionist, Yeshua Isreal was added in Mid 2013 and the rest, as they say is history.
