The Bosco-Gee Blues Band
Featuring; Martila Sanders
Aint no Theme Park Blues here... From the gravel in the voices to the road hardened edge on every note, never a question that this is the real deal. A big band with a big powerful sound, The Bosco-Gee Blues Band captivates their audience with polished dynamics and their unique, signature groove. Boasting five talented singers, led by the sensational voice of Battle Creek, Michigan’s Martila Sanders, The Big Blues Revue serves up a smoking hot menu of blues classics, all spiced up with a generous dose of “Bosco-Gee” flavor as well as a growing list of powerful original material.
The Band was formed in 2009 by Guitarist, singer, songwriter, Michael Gee with a vision and a plan. Taking nearly eighteen months to assemble the cast of players and polishing the act in clubs and small venues, with the release of the Band’s First CD “Fame and Misfortune” in early 2011, things began to happen. Since then, the Bosco-Gee Blues Band has shared the same bill with The Rusty Wright Band, Jimmy Johnson, Rod Piazza, Carl Weathersby, Shaunn Murphy, Larry McCray, Anthony Gomes, Trampled Under Foot, Champagne and the Motor City Blues Crew, Sherman Moody Thomas, Popa Chubby and Tommy Castro. The Band has appeared in three consecutive Kalamazoo Blues Festivals, Lansing’s 2012 MICA “Old Town Blues Festival, The Kalamazoo State Theatre, The Riviera Theatre, Gun Lake Casino and The New Daisy Theatre on Beale St. in Memphis.
The Band has made guest appearances on Vinniy Marini’s Music on the Couch (Podcast from the Rum Boogie Cafe in Memphis), Ole’ Harve’s Blues Revue on WVPE 88.1 FM and is claiming more regional recognition every day. The Band’s Second CD, “The Rain Falls Anyway” was released in December of 2012 and the Band travelled to Memphis in January of 2013 to represent the Kalamazoo Valley Blues Association in the 29th Annual International Blues Challenge.
